Headline - Food Bank Gets Cool Grand From Musicians

The Hallowell Food Bank got a big “royalties” check for $933.00 from the Hallowell Area Board of Trade on behalf of thirteen area musicians. Each of tunesmiths contributed a song for the production of a special musical CD entitled “04347,” the zip code for Hallowell. The CD went on sale during the City's Mardi Gras Festival last spring
Food bank proceeds from area musicians Barry Timson, Mayor of Hallowell and a food bank official, expressed his sincere appreciation to the musicians and to the Board of Trade for underwriting the production costs. “With the benefit of holiday sales, I'm certain the total donation will be over a thousand dollars and this is a very timely gift. There is real need this time of year.” He recognized Tom Giordano, Rick Dosedlo and Chris Vallee for coming up the concept. Ken Garant of Garant Graphics developed the artwork and Bob Colwell produced the CD at The Root Cellar Recording Studio. Both graciously donated their time to the project. “04347 is available at many area stores, “according to Bob McIntire, the President of the Board of Trade. “You can also order it on-line at our web site www.hallowell.org” The presentation was made during a recent Board of Trade meeting held at the Harlow Gallery in Hallowell. Musicians contributing to the production include Alter Igor, Tim Barry, Tom Giordano, Jonah Howard, Steve Jones, Lynn Julian, Scott King, Joel Lockwood, Mark “Guitar” Miller, Pat Pepin, Rolling Blackouts, Sister Moon, and Tim Sullivan
